Since its founding in 1915, the Department has grown to become a leading force in education, research and clinical care, making significant contributions locally and globally.

Highlights include the Walkathon, the Hong Kong Surgical Forum, the Digby Memorial Lecture, and the Anniversary Gala Dinner. The Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (hereafter ‘the Department’) will celebrate the 110th anniversary of its founding in 2025! To mark this remarkable milestone, the Department hosted the 110th Anniversary Logo Design Competition, inviting students (both Undergraduate and Postgraduate), staff, and alumni from the LKS Faculty of Medicine, HKU, to participate.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their exceptional creativity and enthusiastic involvement. After a thorough evaluation process, we are thrilled to announce that the winning design was created by Miss Hu Shihang, a PhD student from our Department.
