                                        Siu-Ming Mak                                                                                                           Eric Ng






              Dr. Siu-Ming Mak is a highly respected and accomplished pathologist with a distinguished career in                     Dr. Eric Ng received his medical degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed

              anatomical pathology and genetic and genomic pathology. Currently serving as the Chief of Service                      his specialty training in otorhinolaryngology at United Christian Hospital and Hong Kong Children's
              of the Department of Clinical Pathology at Tuen Mun Hospital, Pok Oi Hospital, and Tin Shui Wai                        Hospital. He is currently Associate Consultant at Tseung Kwan O Hospital and Clinical Assistant
              Hospital, Dr. Mak plays a pivotal role in advancing pathology services and laboratory medicine in                      Professor (honorary) in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The
              Hong Kong.                                                                                                             Chinese University of Hong Kong.



              Dr. Mak graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2001 and underwent specialist
                                                                                                                                     Dr. Ng has a special interest in facial plastic surgery and pediatric otolaryngology. He practices
              training in pathology at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and North District Hospital. His
                                                                                                                                     the breadth of these subspecialities with emphasis on microtia reconstruction, rhinoplasty,
              dedication to excellence in pathology was recognized with the attainment of his Fellowship of The
                                                                                                                                     laryngotracheal stenosis, and pediatric sleep apnea. Deeply aware of the challenges faced by
              Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) in 2007. In 2008, he further achieved Fellowships
                                                                                                                                     patients with facial disfigurement and congenital anomalies in developing a positive sense of self,
              from The Hong Kong College of Pathologists (HKCPath) and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine,
                                                                                                                                     Dr. Ng is driven by a passion to dedicate his career to these fields.
              as well as Membership of The International Academy of Cytology.



              As a practicing specialist, Dr. Mak has extensive experience in anatomical pathology and genetic
              and genomic pathology. He has been instrumental in the planning and development of clinical
              pathology laboratories and mortuaries across various public hospitals, ensuring the delivery of high-
              quality diagnostic services to support patient care.



              Dr. Mak is deeply committed to the advancement of pathology education and training. From 2021
              to 2023, he served as the Chairman of the Training and Examinations Committee of HKCPath,
              overseeing the College’s training programs and examinations. His contributions to the field have also

              extended to his role as Chief Examiner in Anatomical Pathology for HKCPath and as an examiner for
              RCPA, where he has helped shape the next generation of pathologists.


              In recognition of his leadership and expertise, Dr. Mak was elected as President of HKCPath.

              In this role, he continues to champion the development of pathology as a discipline, fostering
              collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the field.
